Ceccotti Collezioni is opening its new flagship store in Milan

For the Milano Design Week, Ceccotti Collezioni is opening its new flagship store in Via Durini 23, designed by Studio Calvi Brambilla. A journey through contemporary design and elegant craftsmanship.

Ceccotti Collezioni, the Tuscany-based brand that is well known for its designer pieces with a distinct hand-made aesthetic, and Interni, its Italian dealer, have chosen the Milano Design Week to unveil the new flagship store, in Via Durini 23, designed by Studio Calvi Brambilla.

A prestigious venue right in the centre of Milan, in a “designer shopping street” that has always been home to the greatest Italian and international brands. Ceccotti Collezioni couldn’t have chosen a better place for its new flagship store, the appropriate setting for the company’s designer collections.

Architects Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla have designed the store: an architectural box with an elegantly minimal vibe that embraces and emphasises the strong personality of the furnishings, while highlighting every single detail. The interior layout – despite its apparent understatement – emphasises the craftsmen’s excellent skills and the quintessentially Italian care for details, even in the precious materials chosen for the facings: the floor and the partition wall are in brushed grey Albanera sandstone, while a hanging burnished metal sheet defines the top of the venue.

The store consists of a large ground floor that hosts the collections, with the Living pieces on display in the shop-windows. A staircase leads up to the first floor, which is the perfect stage for the other new pieces of the collection, looking down on to the ground floor. Everything has been designed to see each feature from different perspectives, as a whole and in detail.

The collection on display includes some of the latest pieces mixed with those that have already been successfully brought to Shanghai, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni. They include the Icosofà sofa and the IcoLounge armchair, with their distinctive bent frame and winding design, in solid wood. The elegant Dorotea dressing table, which, with its hidden flap and the pockets in contrasting wood, is a small masterpiece of cabinet-making, completed by the Jun stool. The big, comfortable Tomorrow Morning bed, with a double-height adjustable headboard, offers optimum comfort even when you are sitting on it. Lastly, the Petit Matin tables/nightstands,with two glass, coloured glass or marble tops staggered over each other, creating ever-different combinations of colours and materials. The very latest pieces include the Odile coffee tables and the Odette console, the Oblique cabinets designed by Studio Draw, and the Ala chair designed by Giuseppe Casarosa.

“Our new flagship store – says Franco Ceccotti, who has been at the helm of the company since 1986 – embodies the brand’s tangible will to keep believing, even in times like these, in real, visual and tactile experience; the only one that can make one fully appreciate the outstanding manual skills and the excellent manufacture that make our creations really unique”.
